Korea Trip: Jeongseon 旌善郡, Daegwallyeong 大關嶺

About 90km drive from Herb Nara to Jeongseon Auraji Rail Bike 旌善鐵路自行車.
An old railway track turned into a leisure cycling track through the mountain, rivers, rice fields and tunnels. The one way journey took about 40 to 45 minutes on the 7.2km track.

I recommend the two pax rail bike than the 4 pax rail bike and always go for the first cart to have the unblock view.

Went a little too fast ahead

Paid 5 SGD for this photo

수리취떡 Herb tteok (rice cake) with red bean filling.

Rail bike entrance fee include a train ride back to the station we came from.
The mating grasshopper restaurant

오장폭포, 五臟瀑布 Ojang waterfall 2km away from Rail Bike
Some Korean ajushi made us pose

Another 70 to 90km drive to Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm, the only sheep farm in Korea.
Mountain 360 degree, 70% of Korea is mountain.
Freshly made kimbab is so delicious

Sugar coated hot dog bun, Inho childhood snack.

The picture perfect grassland

Reached too late, the sheep are only out in the field from 11 am to 3 pm.

Hi little guy.

Our entrance fee includes a basket of grass.

The leader with a crown on his head.

Picture of Giraffe Kwang Soo up there!
Extremely smart shepherd dog, he is able to catch all Inho's throw.

Spend the night in Lepovill Amber house pension 10 minutes from the sheep farm. Price from their website is not accurate, we have to bargin with the Manager Ajushi to get Amber house at 100,000WON a night (approx 120 SGD).

The husband says this is his dream retirement house

Comes with heated floor and tatami for us to snuggle to watch TV.

대관령 남경식당 Famous buckwheat noodle and Gwong dumpling recommended by the Pension Manager.
Gwong (pheasant) dumpling, some quail like mountain bird.
막국수 Makguksu, signature buckwheat noodle
Makguksu is different from cold noodle, less chewy and easier to eat. This is super good super addictive, even Inho who doesn't like noodle much enjoyed this dish so much.
Too full to have Chicmaek, so we just have Maekju after Supermarket shopping.
